Connect a Custom Webhook

What does this integration do?

The Custom Webhook integration gives you a unique URL. Any system that can send an HTTP request, such as your website, a script or a CRM, can post reviews to that URL and they will appear in ProofBeer.

• Full control over what is sent and when.

• Works with any platform or custom software.

• Optional secret key to keep the connection secure.

Before you begin

• Decide which system will send the reviews.

• Ask your developer to send an HTTP POST request, or use a no-code automation tool.

How to connect a custom webhook

1. Open Integrations and click Add Connection.

2. Select Custom Webhook.

3. Type an Integration Name, for example CRM Reviews.

4. Optional: add a Secret Key / Token.

5. Click Save Connection.

6. ProofBeer generates a unique Webhook URL and a sample payload for you.

Send your first review

1. Copy the Webhook URL and the sample payload from your connection.

2. Send a POST request to the URL with your review data in the same format as the sample.

3. If you set a secret, include it in the x-webhook-secret header or in the payload.

4. Open the connection in ProofBeer to check that the review arrived.

About the secret key

• It is optional, but recommended for extra security.

• When set, requests without the correct token are rejected.

• Keep it private and do not share it publicly.

Use case

A software company collects ratings inside its own app. After a user submits a rating, the app sends it to the ProofBeer webhook. The review then shows on the company website in a Horizontal Marquee.

Frequently asked questions

I do not know how to code. Can I still use this?

Yes. Use Zapier or CSV Import instead, or ask a developer to set up the webhook once.

My requests are rejected.

Check that the URL is correct, the secret matches and the connection switch is turned on.
